Children’s Garden is Open!

The Doris I. Schnuck Children’s Garden is open now through October.

You can pretend to blaze a trail like Daniel Boone on a Missouri adventure. Grab your guide at the Ridgway Center and follow the trail to make a craft and collect your frontier supplies. Enjoy some tasty pioneer treats and visit the General Store to trade with the merchant for a fun surprise.

germination stations
The Children’s Garden is a great place for families to play and explore our local natural environment. This season, look for a new way to discover nature with a child: Germination Stations. Located throughout the Children’s Garden, these educator-led stations are meant to plant seeds of knowledge and encourage growing minds through games and hands-on learning. A variety of these stations will be offered daily in the Children’s Garden. Included with admission.

shaws b-day
We'll be celebrating Henry Shaw's 208th Birthday on July 24, 2008 with fun activities in the Children's Garden.

Children's Garden Closing for the Season
Sunday, October 26
through Friday, October 31

Help us put the Doris I. Schnuck Children's Garden to bed for the season!

Come participate in fall-themed activities all week long. We have fun activities planned each day from 9am to 4pm!

At different times throughout each day, children can...

  • explore spring blooming bulbs and receive one to take home
  • make an herb seed packet and experience some of the herbs we eat
  • learn about fall harvest and the seasonal foods we eat
  • discover what hibernates in the Children's Garden
  • decorate a CG button magnet to take home

Fall is a great time to experience the Children's Garden with the youngsters in your life!
